One look out over the vines, olive trees and sculptures of Montalto Vineyard and Olive Group from the glass walled terrace restaurant and you’ll be forgiven for wanting to stay all day. The rammed earth walls, timber frames and rough floor boards blur the edges of inside and out and create a cosy retreat in winter and, with doors flung open and a table on the extensive decking, a fine spot to spend a summer afternoon. Head chef Barry Davis serves food inspired by regional France but anchored in the fresh seasonal produce of the estate, the kitchen garden and the Mornington Peninsula.
