The Little Library Cookbook is based on food enjoyed by some of the western world’s most well-known fictional characters – literally food recreated from literature! From Michael Bond’s Paddington Bear (Marmalade) through to Mari Puzo’s The Godfather (Spaghetti andMeatballs) there is a meal based on a literary icon for nearly everyone.

The book is divided into sections that are most applicable to each meal – before noon, around noon, after noon (tea), the dinner table and midnight feasts. There are also sections for parties and celebrations including Christmas.

The range of recipes throughout The Little Library Cookbook is diverse, each recipe enhanced by the knowledge that it's part of a story. Creating an enormous round chocolate cake after reading about it in Matilda is a great family activity the kids will love.

The same can be said of The Queen of Heart’s tarts from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland! 

But it's not just sweet treats. There's Creamed Haddock on Toast from Agatha Christie’s Sleeping Murder; Figs and Custard from James Joyce’s Dubliners; and Clam Chowder from Herman Melville’s Moby Dick.

A treat that can be enjoyed whilst reading the story again – perhaps giving a specific aroma to an associated story for the first time.
