Moorilla, located at Berriedale just north of Hobart in Southern Tasmania, was established by one of the icons of Tasmanian viticulture and winemaking, the late Claudio Alcorso.

Moorilla is now MONA, an integrated wine, food, art and cultural experience, with boutique chalet accommodation and regular concerts. It also hosts the annual MONA FOMA music and arts festival in January, which takes place at various locations around Hobart, and the annual Dark Mofo winter festival each June, celebrating the dark through large-scale public art, food, music, light and noise.

The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA; formerly the Moorilla Museum of Antiquities), owned by collector and philanthropist David Walsh, is Australia's largest privately-owned museum, and is a gallery of international significance. It houses the permanent 'Monanism' evolving exhibition in addition to a range of changing exhibitions.

Entry to the Museum for Tasmanian visitors is free. Entry for interstate and overseas visitors over 18 years of age is $20. Concessions are $10. The Museum is open from 10am - 5pm every day except for Tuesdays and Christmas Day.

Visitors can get to MONA via ferry, bus, car or bike. Visit the website for the latest bus and ferry departure times.

Moorilla's award-winning wines, including their signature pinot noir, are amongst the best in the State. Look out for the Praxis and Muse ranges. Moorilla is also home to the microbrewery Moo Brew.

Not to be missed on a visit to Hobart.
