Bream Creek Pinot Rose NV DE
Bream Creek Schonburger

Bream Creek vineyard overlooks the breathtaking seascape of Marion Bay and Maria Island on the South East of Tasmania.

Planted in 1974, it's one of the oldest vineyards in the state. In 1990, leading vigneron Fred Peacock took over the vineyard and branded it Bream Creek, He also expanded the pinot noir and chardonnay plantings, as well as introducing sauvignon blanc.

Fred also planted what was arguably the first commercial planting of the rare German grape schönburger in the southern hemisphere.

Here are his tasting notes for the latest releases:

2017 vintage note: the 2017 wine grape vintage in Tasmania showed excellent quality, although yields at Bream Creek were slightly down from those in 2016. The balanced acidity and very good flavour aroma profiles across all wine styles are very pleasing.

2017 Bream Creek Schönburger

This wine has a complex nose of fresh melon, rose petal, lychee and honeysuckle.

The palate is luscious and persistent, with melon, guava, white stone fruit and brown pear flavours and a refreshing, clean finish.

Food match: while ideal with sushi, shellfish or Asian style cuisine, this rare German white wine variety has the ability to complement an unusually wide range of foods.

Regrettably stocks are very limited, with less than 200 cases produced.

2017 Bream Creek Pinot Rosé

Made from 100% pinot noir, this is our take on Provence rosé!

This easy drinking style of wine shows enticing flavours of red currants, strawberries and cranberries on the nose and finishes crisp and dry with trademark Tasmanian acidity.

Best served chilled, it is ideal for informal entertaining.

Food match: suits a wide range of foods including barbequed Tasmanian seafood.
