919 Wines in South Australia's Riverland is a small, family-owned winery. Its simple ethos of sustainability is intrinsic to every aspect of the operation, hence its certified organic status.

Jenny and Eric Semmler believe in sustainable business, a philosophy which runs all the way from farm practices, through winemaking to the way they approach winemaking clients and 919 Wines' customers.

They specialise in crafting high quality wines and fortifieds from non-traditional varieties that are particularly suited to hotter climates. Minimal irrigation is used with indigenous/native vegetation used as blocks and buffers.

The first vineyard was planted in Glossup in 2002 and is the source of the Reserve Shiraz, Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional and Durif and the grapes for the fortified wines.

A second vineyards was planted in Loxton in 2011 to produce the Reserve Sangiovese, Ella Semmler’s Orchard Chardonnay and Shiraz, and Latin Collection wines. There are also small lots of Durif, Tempranillo and Muscat here with some other varieties in the early stages of growth.
