Just a few metres from Hobart’s waterfront, fronting Castray Esplanade and backing onto the historic and famous Salamanca Place, you really couldn’t choose a better spot to drop anchor in Hobart than the brand new Salamanca Wharf Hotel.

In the cultural and historic heart of Hobart, it's literally stone’s throw from the harbour, Princes Wharf Shed no.1 where festivals are held throughout the year, Salamanca Place which is home to Saturday’s famous markets and the picturesque Princes Park.

The area is bursting with cafés, restaurants, bars, providores and pubs, all adding their own touch to the atsmosphere and giving you an abundance of culinary choices.

Salamanca Wharf Hotel opened in December 2012 with the philosophy that 'when travelling, you want to stay somewhere that is just as comfortable as your family home'.

Entering one of the rooms is like being invited into the beautiful and comfortable sanctuary of an adventurous friend.

Inspired by the majesty, beauty and colour of Antarctica, the rooms feature extraordinary photography by Antarctic adventurer Laurent Dick. The crisp and vibrant colours of Antarctica, blue, aqua, golden orange and russet are reflected in the decoration throughout the hotel.

Quality timber finishes and furniture sit alongside colourful curtains, cushions and throws. All the rooms are individually heated and cooled, keeping you in control of the temperature. Most importantly the massive glass windows in every room can be thrown open to let in the famous Tasmanian fresh air.

Functional fully-equipped kitchens featuring quality appliances enable you to cook up a storm if the mood takes you. The kitchen also includes a fully stocked bar fridge full of Tasmania’s best beers, wines, cheeses and chocolate.

This boutique apartment hotel has been designed for the next century of explorers of Tasmania, the great southern ocean and Antarctica.

When you decide to explore the state, Salamanca Wharf Hotel will be ready with your choice of Studio, Premium Apartment or Loft Penthouse .
